The Pont du Gard
The Pont du Gard
The Pont du Gard lies between the towns of Uzès and Remoulins in the Gard department (30) and close to Avignon (84). It is only a 40-minute drive from Camping du Mas de Nicolas in Saint-Rémy de Provence.
It is the most visited ancient monument in France. With its 46-meter height, 273-meter length and 52 arches, the Pont du Gard is one of mankind’s greatest masterpieces. Before being a work of prestige, the Pont du Gard was first and foremost a utilitarian structure designed to demonstrate the superiority of urban Roman civilization.
Museums, cinemas, toy libraries and guided tours are available on site to help you better understand its history.
